The Birchwood Security & Emergency Medical Service is a 24 hour 365-day operation. We offer numerous Member Services. These include home security checks, remote heat monitoring, road patrol and home maintenance referrals. The Security Department is a State of Michigan licensed Medical First Responder Agency. We are part of the Northern Michigan Medical Control Authority (NMMCA) and dispatched by the 911 center in Petoskey.  All Security staff hold at least a Medical License as a First Responder, with two staff members holding EMT License's and one with an EMT specialist rating.
