The Birchwood Security & Emergency Medical Service is a 24 hour 365-day operation. We offer numerous Member Services. These include home security checks, remote heat monitoring, road patrol and home maintenance referrals. The Security Department is a State of Michigan Licensed Medical First Responder Agency. We are part of the Northern Michigan Medical Control Authority (NMMCA) and dispatched by the 911 center in Petoskey.  All Security staff hold at least a Medical License as a First Responder, including two staff members holding an EMT License, one EMT Specialist and one Paramedic.
